Dubuque, Peace, Love, Iowa T-Shirt
This design is one-of-a-kind and found only at Dubuque Clothing Co. — the Dubuque, Peace, Love, Iowa T-Shirt is printed on a premium tee with high-quality, soft inks built to last.
That familiar peace symbol was actually designed in 1958 by British artist Gerald Holtom for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, combining semaphore signals for "N" and "D" with a pose inspired by a Goya painting of a man facing a firing squad. American college students started importing peace buttons around 1960, and by 1968 the symbol had shed its original meaning to become the universal shorthand for peace and love everywhere — Iowa very much included.
