This design is one-of-a-kind and found only at Dubuque Clothing Co. — the Catfish Creek, Dubuque, Iowa Fleece Hoodie pairs a hand-drawn catfish and crossed fishing poles with bold red lettering, printed on a soft, cozy fleece hoodie with high-quality inks built to last.
Long before Dubuque was a city, Catfish Creek was where it all started. In 1788, French-Canadian Julien Dubuque reached an agreement with the Meskwaki to mine lead in the area and set up his trading post and smelter where Catfish Creek meets the Mississippi. He later named the land the “Mines of Spain” after the Spanish governor who recognized his claim. When Dubuque died in 1810, the Meskwaki buried him with honors on the bluff overlooking the creek — the spot where the Julien Dubuque Monument stands today. Now protected as Catfish Creek State Preserve inside the Mines of Spain Recreation Area, it’s still one of the best places in town to hike, fish, and wet a line.
