9 Mile Island Mississippi, River Engraved Vintage Sign
The 9 Mile Island Mississippi River Engraved Vintage Sign features a design created exclusively for Dubuque Clothing Co.
Nine-Mile Island is a real 454-acre island in the Mississippi River between Dubuque and Bellevue, named for sitting nine river miles below Eagle Point (it was once known as Shinkles Island). Today it is managed as public wildlife refuge land, forested and dotted with lakes and backwaters, but its most colorful moment came in 1885, when the island was the site of a real steamboat race between the Dan Thayer and the Clyde.
Dimensions: 19" x 9"
The sign is made from reclaimed wood salvaged from old barns in Iowa, which gives it a rustic and authentic charm. The wood is then carefully cut and sanded to perfection.
