Our Mud Lake, Dubuque, Iowa NuBlend® Hooded Sweatshirt is a design created exclusively for Dubuque Clothing Co., built on a premium NuBlend® hoodie blank and finished with soft, high-quality inks that hold up through every season on the water.

Mud Lake owes its current shape to Lock and Dam No. 11, a Depression-era, New Deal-funded project completed in 1937 as part of the Mississippi River’s 9-foot channel system. When the dam went in, it backed up water along the river and flooded the banks around what had been a standalone lake, folding Mud Lake permanently into the Mississippi itself. It’s a small, concrete example of just how much 1930s engineering reshaped the river towns along it - Dubuque included.
